The veterans’ group Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America stood with World Trade Center laborers, iron workers, police officers and firefighters in Washington to continue asking Congress to do the right thing and permanently extend the Zadroga Act for healthcare for those sickened or killed by their work. Congress allowed the act to expire months ago.
“What kind of message does it send to America if folks like this have to stand up in front of Congress and beg for health care support?” Paul Rieckhoff, founder of the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America.
