Unveiling of Alamance County’s (North Carolina) 9/11 Memorial

On September 11, 2016, the fifteenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania,  Alamance County, North Carolina unveiled its memorial to those killed in the attacks, writes the Alamance Webmaster.

The memorial is a small metal sculpture, called Rise.  It consists of sculptures of police officers, firefighters and EMS personnel holding a square of World Trade Center steel from the South Tower. The memorial was designed and constructed by Casey Lewis of Beechwood Metal Works.
