A George Carlin special too raw after September 11 resurfaces now

September 10, 2001, George Carlin recorded a comedy special that was to be aired on HBO. Its title was I Kinda Like It When a Lotta People Die, reported Jason Zinoman in the New York Times.

When 2,973 people were murdered by terrorists one day later, the special was deemed inappropriate, for the title and for some jokes about violence and a plane exploding.

The special will be released on September 16.
