On the morning of September 11, 2001, Hector De Jesus was working on the 55th floor of the South Tower of the World Trade Center.
Every year on the anniversary of that day, he wears the same shirt and speaks with schoolchildren about his experience escaping from the burning tower during the terrorist attacks.
“It changed my life,” he told Danielle Hendrix for the Southwest Orange. “It really did. I lost a couple of acquaintances there. I may forget a lot of things, but I’ll never forget that day.”
