The widow of retired FDNY Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta will file a claim with the World Trade Center Victim Compensation Fund, saying that he died of 9/11-related cancer, reports Kathianne Boneillo for the NY Post.
Scoppetta became Fire Commisioner in January 2002 after a career in the Administration for Children’s Services and other NYC posts.
Scoppetta, 83, died in 2016 of prostate cancer.
