An FDNY firefighter in remission from World Trade Center-related cancer has donated $100,000 — half the money he received from the Never Forget the Heroes: James Zadroga, Ray Pfeifer, and Luis Alvarez Permanent Authorization of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund Act — to the FDNY Fired Up for a Cure Foundation to help others who are also sick.
He said he was inspired to do so by another firefighter’s similar gesture in 2018, reports ABC Channel 7.
