Sapling of 9/11 survivor tree planted on Bell Boulevard

A sapling grown from the beloved World Trade Center Survivor Tree has been planted at the Bayside Hills 9/11 Memorial.

The Survivor Tree Seedling Program gives seedlings from the original Survivor Tree to communities who have endured tragedies or experienced hatred. Saplings have gone this year to Pittsburgh in memory of the Tree of Life Synagogue shooting; Las Vegas in memory of the victims of the 2017 Harvest Festival shooting; and Greece, where wildfires killed and injured many last year, reports Jenna Bagcal for Queens.com.
