Gov. Evers signs bill establishing Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial Highway

There is now a Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial Highway in Kewaskum, Wisconsin.

A bill establishing that part of State Highway 28 between I- 41 in Dodge County and Highway 144 in Washington County as Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial Highway was signed into law on October 31, 2019, reports WMTV NBC 15.

Signs in the area will direct visitors to the Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial Education Center. A beam from the World Trade Center was unveiled there.

Gordon and Kathy Haberman were longtime advocates for the Education Center and the highway renaming. Their daughter Andrea was murdered in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
