‘Sew We Never Forget’ quilt display at Illinois fairgrounds

A collection of quilts made in honor of those killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks is on display in Illinois at the Kankakee County Fairgrounds as part of a seven-stop tour.

The “Sew We Never Forget” 9/11 World Trade Center Memorial Quilt Project, begun by a woman from Prescott, AZ, is one of a number of quilt projects that have honored those killed in the attacks over the years. Quilters from Michigan and Seattle have also been instrumental in the project.

Three hundred quilts are on display, reports Laura McElroy for the Daily Journal.
