A large multi-agency safety drill at JFK Airport on Saturday simulated a crash of a fuel tanker into a plane. More than 250 police officers, firefighters and other emergency responders participated in the drill, while more than 150 volunteers portrayed wounded victims, report Aaron Showalter and Thomas Tracy in the New York Daily News.
Drills of this size are held roughly every three years. Smaller drills are held at least four times annually.
