Vincent Vertuccio, a reputed mob affiliate, entered a guilty plea for stealing money intended to rebuild the World Trade Center, reports Andrew Keshner in the New York Daily News.
Vertuccio filed a false tax return, tampered with documents meant for a grand jury, and took around $700,000 from Crimson Construction Corporation. Crimson won an $11.4 million dollar contract to work on One World Trade Center.
The guilty man owes $1.46 million total to the Port Authority and IRS. He could face 20 years in prison.
