9/11 survivor Earl Johnson shares stories of hope and community

Earl Johnson of Bainbridge Island, WA spoke to Lucille Umbarger Elementary School fifth to eighth-graders and told them about his experience on September 11, 2001, when he escaped from the 51st floor of the North Tower of the World Trade Center, writes Kera Wanielista of the Skagit Valley Herald.

“As crazy as it might sound, I would not trade this day, this hour of my life for any other,” Johnson said. “This was one of my greatest opportunities to experience my fellow man.”
