“24: Legacy” apologises for using footage of real terrorist attack

Producers of the television show 24: Legacy have apologized after using actual footage of the Westgate Mall terrorist attacks in Nairobi in the show’s recent episode, 3:00pm – 4:00pm, reported Clarisse Loughrey in The Independent.

A scene on the show of an intelligence briefing about a fictional terrorist attack displayed footage of the 2013 attack that killed 67 people.

Outraged viewers turned to social media after the episode aired.

Producers Evan Katz and Manny Coto stated, “In Episode 4 of 24: Legacy, we regretfully included news footage of an attack in Nairobi. It will be removed from all future broadcasts and versions of the show. We apologise for any pain caused to the victims and their families and are deeply sorry.”
