The New York Times of April 20, 2016 that the Liberty Street pedestrian bridge, which bears scars from the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, will be recladded.
Discussions are underway with the FDNY and the National September 11 Memorial Museum to see if either organization is interested in keeping some of the damaged panels.
David W. Dunlap writes, “When the panels are taken down this spring, however, the trade center site will lose one more strand connecting it to the events of 2001.”
