Watchung’s 9/11 Memorial construction starts in spring

The Watchung 9/11 Memorial will be erected on the Village Green in the spring of 2016 and will be funded by donations. Estimated cost for the memorial is $80,000, writes Conrad Dudderar in the Echoes Sentinel on December 15, 2015. Completion of the memorial is slated for mid-summer 2016.

The memorial will honor all those murdered in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, including Watchung residents Christopher N. Ingrassia and Honor Elizabeth Wainio. “Lizz” Wainio, 27, a district manager for Discovery Channel Stores, was killed aboard United Flight 93. Christopher Ingrassia, 28, was an equity options trader at Cantor Fitzgerald.
