75% of FDNY who worked at Ground Zero acquired long-term illnesses: report

According to a new medical report, approximately three-quarters of the FDNY members who worked the recovery efforts at the World Trade Center after the 9/11 terrorist attacks now have long-term illnesses because of their service.

The most common illness is currently gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), followed by a host of respiratory diseases, reports Michael McAuliff for the New York Daily News.
