Western New York Families of September 11th install and maintain a local flag memorial every anniversary , reports Jonathan D. Epstein in the Buffalo News.
Leigh Macadlo lost her twin brother, Leonard M. Castrianno and Cynthia Brest lost her brother Sean Rooney in the attacks.
The flag memorial can be see on the grounds of the Clement Mansion on Delaware Avenue. The memorial also shows photos of the 26 people killed in the attacks with ties to Western New York.
“‘That’s what we do. We do that every year,’ said Macadlo.”
