9/11 memorial draws crowds in Bayside

The Bayside memorial commemorating those killed in the terrorist attacks of 9/11  has been redone, after the first plaque was scratched and worn, reports Mark Hallum in the Bayside Times Ledger.

The memorial plaque is located at 204th Street between 33rd and 32nd Avenue. Made of bronze, it bears shields and badges of agencies that lost personnel in the attacks — FDNY, NYPD, Port Authority Police, FDNY EMS, the Department of Sanitation and the New York State Court officers. Lights have been installed, so the memorial willbe illuminated at night.
