The Steven Strobert Foundation will host an outing on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Monmouth Park Race Track, writes Mak Ojutiku in The Jersey Journal.
The foundation was created to honor Steven Strobert, a man known for his generosity. He was murdered in the September 11, 2001 attacks at the age of 33. Friends of the Cantor Fitzgerald bond broker started the foundation in his name.
The foundation’s race track trip is an all-day affair. A ticket includes admission, track-side seating, a barbecue, snacks, beer, and soda. All proceeds raised will go toward the foundation’s backpack program for schoolchildren. Participants are asked to bring one item that would normally be in a child’s school backpack.
