Veronica Chavez was one of the three people injured when a terrorist tried to detonate a bomb in a pedestrian walkway under the Port Authority Bus Terminal, reports Edgar Sandoval of the New York Daily News.
She was feet from the alleged pipe bomber when he detonated the device he wore and suffers from ringing in the ears and headaches.
She also recalled her fears on September 11, 2001, when she was nine months pregnant and afraid for her brothers, who worked near the World Trade Center. She gave birth to a son on September 12, 2001.
Chavez found her brothers on 40th Street upon evacuating from Port Authority Bus Terminal.
