University of Scranton renames building for September 11th hero, William H. Kelly, Jr.

The University of Scranton will change the names of three campus buildings. Currently, the buildings are named for Diocese of Scranton bishops who have been accused of covering up sexual abuse.

The University’s Hannan Hall will be renamed Giblin-Kelly Hall in honor of former students William H. Kelly, Jr. and Brendan J. Giblin, reports the Times-Tribune.

Giblin was killed in a car crash in 2006 while a student at Scranton. William H. Kelly, Jr. graduated from the University of Scranton in 1993. He was killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 while working the World Trade Center.
