The UK’s security minister, Ben Wallace, has suggested a tax on technology giants such as Facebook and Twitter if they do not cooperate with the government in fighting online extremism, terrorist activity and hate speech, reports Natasha Lomas for Tech Crunch.
Fines for failures to remove extremist content are also being considered.
