Ceremonies and deeds of kindness marked the fifth anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings that killed Krystle Campbell, Lu Lingzi and Martin Richard, with PO Sean Collier being killed in the manhunt for the terrorists who set the bombs.
The day is now known as One Boston Day, reports the Associated Press, and blood drives, cleaning projects and other acts of charity are done to remember those killed and injured in the attack.
The 122nd running of the Marathon will be held on April 16, 2018.
