Ballad Lane in Hicksville has been renamed Raymond J. Pfeifer Way in honor of FDNY Firefighter Ray Pfeifer, who fought for the Zadroga Act for years despite being very ill with stage four World Trade Center-related cancer, reports Cecilia Dowd of Fios 1 News.
A ceremony was held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 to honor Pfeifer’s courage and selflessness.
