The cause for 9/11 transparency, justice, and accountability prevailed.
Thanks to you, JASTA is now the law of the land. And, Americans can now know that anyone who funds terrorists who target and kill innocent Americans will be held accountable for their crimes.
Thanks to JASTA, terrorists — and nations that fund terrorists—now understand that they will not be allowed to get away with murder.
Please know that all proposed amendments to JASTA are stridently opposed by the 9/11 Families.
Any proposed amendments to JASTA must follow the standard protocols and procedures for how sound legislation is created and enacted by our U.S. Congress—with full debate, robust discourse, and vigorous negotiation made over a substantive period of time.
Any proposed amendments to JASTA that are “snuck-in” to the CR will be deemed an insult to the American public and a disservice to our troops. JASTA bankrupts the terrorists who set roadside bombs and other IED’s that kill and/or maim our troops. JASTA holds to account those who fund groups like ISIS, al Nusra, and al Qaeda that specifically target and kill our troops. JASTA—as it is currently written—protects our troops and saves their lives. FULL STOP.
