Tennessee’s Stanley Valley Volunteer Fire Department has a “new” fire truck courtesy of the Terry Farrell Firefighters’ Fund.
Terry Farrell, of the FDNY’s elite Rescue 4, was killed responding to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, nearly 20 years ago. His family started the fund that assists firefighters with gear for small fire departments and helps firefighters’ families with scholarships and medical help.
“The Terry Farrell Firefighter Fund assisted greatly with storing the fire engine and ensuring the fire truck was prepared to make the drive back to Tennessee,” a spokesman for the Stanley Valley FD told Jeff Bobo of the Times News. “The fund also arranged the Stanley Valley Fire Department members to stay free of charge at the Bethpage Engine Company 5 station. The fire engine is now ready to serve the citizens of the Stanley Valley community and surrounding areas.”
