Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer told reporter Jordain Carney of The Hill “[I told] Leader McConnell: I am imploring, pleading, even begging to Leader McConnell, to put the bill [the refunding of the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund] on the [Senate] floor immediately after it passes the House.”
“As soon as the House passes this bill, it should be on the floor of the Senate immediately — as a stand-alone bill,” said Schumer.
McConnell told reporters, “I haven’t looked at that lately. I’ll have to. We’ve always dealt with that in the past in a compassionate way, and I assume we will again.”
