The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey has restored a “medal day” – an extra vacation day to its employees who performed “extraordinary acts” on September 11, 2001. The benefit was cut in 2011.
Among those employees are 10 people who carried a disabled colleague from the 69th floor to the ground.
Nineteen people who still work at the Port Authority will receive the extra vacation day again, reports Melissa Klein for the New York Post.
