Edward Thomas Strauss was the protective oldest brother of seven children, a devoted husband to his beloved Jane, a dedicated dad, and a respected member of the Port Authority of NY & NJ, the World Trade Center chief of operations. He managed to find time to spend with his family, study history and help anyone who needed it. Eddie was killed at the age of 44 while saving lives at the Port Authority during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. He was seen with a bullhorn, guiding people out of Tower 2.
A foundation in Eddie’s name, With Eddie’s Help, assists people in many ways, helping for a number of charities including scholarships for graduates of his alma mater, JFK High School, reports Bob Heleringer for the Courier-Journal.
