8-year-old Scarsdale twins create snack bags for FDNY members

Twins Rebecca and Joshua Polevoy, 8, heard about the recent fire in the Bronx that killed 17 people, and wanted to help. So they made thank-you snack bags for the firefighters of four Bronx firehouses that responded to the fire, reports staff from News 12.

Phoenix Open unveils 9/11 20th anniversary tent spike forged in Mesa

The Phoenix Open golf tournament, currently in Phoenix, has a 9/11 connection — its main tent is anchored by an ornate steel spike forged from World Trade Center steel.

Blacksmiths Avi Goodman  (Iron Rhino) and Jacie Cotterell (Red Front Forge) made the spike to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, reports Athena Ankrah of KJZZ Fronteras.

Death of Leonard A. Castrianno, 82, who lost his son in the September 11 attacks

Leonard A. Castrianno died on January 31, 2022 of congestive heart failure at the age of 82, reports The Buffalo News.

He lost his son, Leonard M. Castrianno, 30, in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, after losing another child, daughter Carolyn Castrianno, in 1996. Leonard M. Castrianno worked for Cantor Fitzgerald on the 105th floor of Tower 1.
