The World Trade Center Health Program has counted 9,795 people with World Trade Center-related cancer, reports Susan Edelman for the New York Post.
More than 1,700 recovery workers have died of site-related illnesses, including cancer.
“We get these referrals 15 to 20 times a week,” said World Trade Center Health Program’s Dr. Michael Crane.
Melanoma, thyroid and blood cancers are particularly high among the September 11th population.
