The U.S. Navy has confirmed that Saturday, April 6 will be commissioning day for the new USS Arlington. Events will be held at Naval Station Norfolk.
The date had been expected, but was subject to change until officially announced by the Navy.
The public will be able to attend commissioning ceremonies. There is no charge, but a visitor pass will be required to access the naval base.
Several other invitation-only events will take place the day of, and the day preceding, the commissioning ceremony.
