When accused terrorist Khalid Sheik Mohammed suddenly interrupted proceedings at the Guantánamo hearings by announcing in Arabic, “this is a nuclear bomb in the world,” Army Col. James L. Pohl, the judge, threatened to eject him from court, reported Carol Rosenberg in the Miami Herald.
Mohammed accused Pohl of “not being neutral” on the issue and complained that his lawyers are American.
Pohl shouted him down and declared that he will not tolerate defendants talking without permission.
