The law firm of Cozen O’Connor and golfer Jason Kokrak have parted ways due to Kokrak’s joining the Saudi-backed LIV golf tournament reports Brian Baxter of Bloomberg Law staff.
“In light of Mr. Kokrak’s affiliation with the new LIV Tour, we have mutually agreed he will no longer be an ambassador for Cozen O’Connor,” read a statement from Cozen O’Connor.
The new LIV golf league appears to be a PR attempt at “sportswashing” from Saudi Arabia. The group 9/11 Justice, consisting of 9/11 family members and survivors, has been very vocal in denouncing the league and those who took money from the league.
Cozen O’Connor has been active in the families’ 2003 lawsuit against Saudi Arabia alleging that the Saudi government assisted the 9/11 hijackers specifically and al Qaeda in general.
