The late NYPD Detective Steven McDonald now has a street near his former Central Park precinct named for him, report Laura Dimon Leonard Greene in the New York Daily News.
McDonald was shot and permanently paralyzed while a second-year rookie. He publicly forgave his shooter, and lived an incredible life giving to others until his death at 59 earlier this year.
McDonald’s son, Connor, has followed his father’s footsteps and is a sergeant in the NYPD.
