Prosecutors at the trial for the accused bike path terrorist will be permitted to show jurors the contents from two phones found in the truck used to kill eight people on October 31, 2017.
Defence lawyers for accused terrorist Sayfullo Saipov tried to prevent this material from being used in court. Thousands of ISIS messages, including ones encouraging lone wolf terror attacks using vehicles, were found on the phones.
Saipov was arrested as he exited the truck carrying pellet and paintball guns and crying, “Allahu Akbar, ” reports the Associated Press.
