On August 30, 2109, the last 138 lawsuits about the World Trade Center recovery efforts have been dismissed. These final suits claimed that the Battery Park City Authority (BPCA) permitted unsafe working conditions at the staging area at Stuyvesant High School, allowing dust and smoke from the Trade Center into the working areas.
The judge, Alvin K. Hellerstein, dismissed the final cases, finding that a 2010 settlement with New York City covered these issues, reports Tom McParland for New York Law Journal.
The cases were consolidated under the caption In Re World Trade Center Lower Manhattan Disaster Litigation.
