The NYPD plans heavy security around this year’s Halloween Parade on the one-year anniversary of the bike path terrorist attack.
Last year’s parade was a success with no incidents, despite being held mere hours after the attack, and the NYPD expects this year’s parade to be a peaceful event as well.
“We will have deployed thousands of plainclothes as well as uniformed members of the service,” Chief of Patrol Rodney Harrison told WABC Eyewitness News. “As well as our Critical Response Command, our Strategic Response Group, K-9, aviation, as well as Emergency Service Unit will be deployed.”
