George M. Reilly, age 71, of Nanuet, New York, passed away at home on Friday, November 15, 2013. He was born on December 5, 1941 in Manhattan, New York to the late Arthur and Marie Reilly. George was a retired FDNY lieutenant. He loved being a firefighter and enjoyed a long (23 years) and active career with the New York City Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Joan E. Reilly; his daughter, Regina T. Madigan and husband William; his son, Edward A. Reilly; his two granddaughters, Sarah Joan and Niamh Marie Madigan; his brother Arthur Reilly Jr. He is also predeceased by his son, Firefighter Kevin Owen Reilly, September 11, 2001.
Services will be held at Higgins Funeral Home, 321 South Main St., New City, New York 10956 on Monday, November 18, 7-9pm and Tuesday November 19, 2-4pm & 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday November 20, 2013 at 10:00 am at St. Anthony’s Church, Nanuet, New York.
