Frank Kennedy, who was retired from the East Hampton Town Marine Patrol and who spent 36 hours working on the perimeter of the World Trade Center site after the attacks of 9/11, has died after a long illness. He was 61.
His cremation was private, writes Taylor K. Vecsey in the East Hampton Star.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Legion Post 419 for their book scholarship fund or for their September 11 memorial. Contributions can be sent to American Legion Post 419, P.O. Box 1343, East Hampton 11937.
Mr. Kennedy expressed bitterness that his work at the site was unacknowledged by East Hampton officials.
