Ashley Bisman was 16 when lost her father, Jeffrey Goldflam, in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. He worked as CFO of Cantor Fitzgerald on the topmost floors of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Bisman has written a book about her life since that day – it’s called Chasing Butterflies: The True Story of a Daughter of 9/11.
“I feel like this is pretty much the first memoir from a daughter of 9/11,” Bisman told Samantha Verrelli of The Daily Collegian. “It feels like there’s nothing from a teenager’s perspective who was happy and healthy in spite of 9/11, trying to navigate finding a husband and a life partner having lost my dad.”
A portion of the book’s proceeds will be donated to Tuesday’s Children.
