The terrorist who planted bombs in Chelsea in autumn 2016 is serving a life sentence for those crimes. On October 8, 2019 he was also convicted of attempting to kill New Jersey police officers in a shootout that wounded two officers. In addition to the attempted murder charges, he was also convicted on multiple counts of aggravated assault and weapons charges. He could serve another life sentence for these convictions.
Construction is complete at the new Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoint at Newark Liberty Airport’s Terminal C. The space is 40% bigger than it was, and features new ways to improve passenger safety and traffic flow. A new digital monitor now estimates waiting time for passengers.
