Chief Guantánamo prosecutor retiring before September 11 trial begins

U.S. Army Brigadier General Mark S. Martins, the chief prosecutor for military commissions, including that of the Guantánamo prisoners, has announced that he will be retiring at the end of September.

NYC EMS workers blast Mayor de Blasio’s COVID-19 heroes parade, would rather get bonuses or raises for wrenching pandemic work

Mayor de Blasio is holding a ticker-tape parade for COVID-19 medical workers on Wednesday, July 7. EMS workers who spoke with reporters don’t want a parade — they want better wages.

Heroes for Heroes Run honors first responders

Last night, the second annual Heroes for Heroes Run gave hero sandwiches and beverages to Staten Island hospital workers, EMS workers, firefighters, and police officers.
