The Saracini Aviation Safety Act is finally law, after years of work by September 11th widow Ellen Saracini, whose husband, Captain Victor Saracini, was the pilot of United Flight 175, the second plane hijackers flew into the World Trade Center during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
“The Saracini Aviation Safety Act would mandate a secondary barrier to be put on all passenger commercial aircrafts. It would create a level of security that before the cockpit door opens up in flight, this secondary barrier would be engaged and create a barrier so that once the cockpit door opens up, that area is secure,” Ellen Saracini told reporter Andrew Kramer of KYW Newsradio.
