NYPD Officer Dave Guevara, 45, went to the doctor two weeks ago thinking he had pneumonia. He was diagnosed with lung cancer and died two days later, leaving a wife and two children. He spent weeks working at the World Trade Center recovery operation and his widow attributes his death to that work, reports Laura Dimonandy Mai in the New York Daily News.
Guevara was considering retirement after 23 years with the NYPD.
