Edith Bartley, who lost her father and her brother in the 1998 U.S. Embassy bombings in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, and Susan F. Hirsch, who lost her husband, react to one of the terrorists behind the attacks is released from proson after 21 years.
“Just serving a sentence doesn’t mean that a person has been rehabilitated, doesn’t mean that their core thinking has changed,” Ms. Bartley told Benjamin Weiser of the NY Times. “This is a person who can still do harm in the world.”
