Retired NYPD Officer Timothy Motto honored with street co-naming

A street near the NYC Police Academy has been renamed in honor of former NYPD Officer Timothy Motto, 63, who died of World Trade Center-related illness last year, reports Sophie Krichevsky, for the Queens Chronicle.

Officer Motto was retired on September 11, 2001, after serving at the 28th Precinct in Harlem for many years. He still responded to the terrorist attacks.

Timothy Motto worked to preserve the memory of murdered NYPD Officer Phillip Cardillo, including a street naming ceremony.
