New NYC law, Intro. 1785, provides more 9/11 surviving families health benefits

Families of New York City’s Sanitation and Correction officers, and other city workers who die in the line of duty or from a World Trade Center-related illness will now be eligible for survivor benefits under a new city law, Intro 1785, that was signed into law today.

Before today, the benefits were available to families of such workers only if the death occurred during active service, reports Natasha D. Smith for WPIX 11.
