World Trade Center Oculus recreated with Legos

A scale model of the World Trade Center Oculus built from Legos is on display in its larger counterpart as part of Legoland New York Resort. It is three feet high, took 555 hours to build, and uses 40,000 Legos, report Elizabeth Elizalde and Leonard Greene for the New York Daily News.

“Because the New York City skyline is always changing, our master model builders always have a challenge to come up with the newest iconic buildings to put into Legoland Miniland, and miniland New York is no exception,” said Matt Besterman, a Legoland New York spokesman. “They wanted to include buildings that were more than just the Empire State Building or Yankee Stadium.”
