The Day, a new dance piece choreographed by Lucinda Childs, had its world premiere at the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in Becket, Massachusetts this week and will be seen in New York at the Joyce in October.
The Day is a multimedia collaboration among Ms. Childs, dancer Wendy Whelan, cellist Maya Beiser, set designer Sara Brown, projection designer Joshua Higgason, and David Lang, the composer, that tells the story of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Brian Seibert of the New York Times calls the work “elegant and artful.”
